Soap Applicator System
Set Up Your Soap Applicator
Select your pressure washer's GPM, chemical strength, and cleaning surface. We'll show you exactly which parts to use.
Your recommended setup
Enter your GPM above to see which parts to use.
Wear safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves. Never mix sodium hypochlorite with ammonia, acids or other cleaners.
Results are approximate starting points based on the instruction manual, not a guarantee that a strength is safe for every material or condition. Always test a small, hidden area first.
Install your parts

Install the correct brass orifice inside the applicator, narrow taper down, then reinstall the plug hand tight and snug.

Press the recommended proportioner into the brass barb (the chemical connection) until it's seated.

Slide the siphon hose onto the brass barb and tighten the clamp.

Drop the filter end of the hose into your chemical bucket.

Connect the applicator to your spray gun, then pull on it to make sure it's locked.
Quick-use steps
- Wear safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves.
- Pre-wet nearby plants and surrounding surfaces with plain water.
- Apply to a small, hidden test area first.
- Apply the solution from the bottom up.
- Let it dwell 5 to 10 minutes.
- Don't let the solution dry. Re-mist any area that starts to dry.
- Shut off the chemical flow with the valve on the siphon hose.
- Rinse from the top down.
- Flush the applicator with clean water after use.
See the instruction manual for complete directions.

*** Purple and Light Green: typically used when applying undiluted house wash or 12.5% sodium hypochlorite.
Read only your orifice's column. Colors shown are approximate. Open (no proportioner) is for reference and is not recommended for normal 1% to 6% jobs.
Calculate a custom target strength
Know the strength you want on the surface? Use the custom target option and the calculator does the math the manual describes.
Chemical % ÷ Target % = Ratio
Chemical % ÷ Installed ratio = Actual % on the surface
Filling your bucket
Fill a clean bucket with 12.5% sodium hypochlorite (commonly sold as pool-strength bleach), or your chosen concentrate at full label strength. Add a bleach-stable surfactant at the amount on its label and stir gently.
Do not dilute the bucket. The orifice and proportioner do all the dilution. Pre-diluting halves the strength you calculated.
Applicator not pulling chemical?
Applicator will not draw chemical
Open the shut-off valve on the siphon hose. Remove and rinse the strainer screen. Check that your orifice matches your GPM. Straighten the siphon hose, reseat the clamp, or replace the hose if it's kinked, cracked or drawing air.
Water escaping at the plug
The M22 plug is under-tightened or the orifice isn't fully seated. Shut down, remove the plug, reseat the orifice narrow taper down, and retighten.
Water discharging from the chemical barb
The orifice is missing or installed in reverse. Shut down and reinstall the orifice narrow taper down.
Not enough reach, or an overly misted stream
The adjustable collar is closed, or the orifice is the wrong size. Rotate the collar open and confirm the orifice number against your GPM.
Poor cleaning result
The bucket was pre-diluted, the dwell time was too short, or the ratio is too lean. Remix at full strength, extend dwell to 10 minutes, or step up one row on the chart to a stronger ratio.
Streaking after rinse
The solution was applied top-down or dried on the surface. Apply bottom-up, keep the surface wet throughout, and rinse before it dries.
Safety information
This tool combines a corrosive chemical with a high-pressure stream.
- Wear safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves whenever you mix or spray. Sodium hypochlorite causes eye and skin injury on contact.
- Never combine sodium hypochlorite with ammonia, acids, or other household cleaners. These reactions release chlorine and chloramine gas, which can be fatal in a confined space. Water and a bleach-stable surfactant are the only things that belong in your bucket.
- Never aim the spray at a person or animal. A high-pressure stream can penetrate skin. Any injection injury needs emergency treatment, even when the wound looks minor. Tell the doctor it is a high-pressure injection.
- Saturate surrounding vegetation with plain water before, during, and after the wash. Wet foliage resists chemical burn; dry foliage does not.
- Do not allow solution to dry on the surface. Work in shade or under overcast conditions, and re-mist any area that begins to dry.
- Cold water only. Heat degrades the applicator body and the chemical hose.
- Work from the ground. Do not use a ladder while operating the soap applicator.
- Keep children and pets clear of the bucket and the entire work area.
- Mask or cover light fixtures, outlets, and any surface you do not intend to treat.
- Always test a small, hidden area first.
- Flush the applicator with clean water after every use.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Cleaning and storage
- Flush after every use. Place the strainer in a bucket of clean water and run the applicator until the stream is clear. Residual sodium hypochlorite is corrosive, so rinse the strainer thoroughly to extend its life.
- Remove and rinse the strainer screen. A restricted screen is the most common cause of lost draw.
- Rinse the proportioners and let them dry completely before storage.
- Store indoors, out of direct sunlight, above freezing. Never leave chemical standing in the hose between jobs.
